Many years ago the Pilgrims thanked God for the good things He had given to them. They knew God loved them and they could trust Him to care for them. Thanksgiving Day is a special time when we can give thanks to God for the many good things in our lives. He has given us so many good things: our parents, family, friends, food, home, His love. Yes, that’s right! God loves you. He loves you SO much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to be born many years ago. The Bible says,

 “This is how God showed his love to us: He sent his only Son into the world to give us life through him.”
